AUTUMN FOR THE SOUL Week 3

Harvesting What You’ve Planted

Week 3: Recognizing what your life has already produced.

“And let us not grow weary of doing good,

for in due season we will reap,

if we do not give up".

Galatians 6:9

Fall is a season when we naturally think about the harvest. It also naturally invites us to reflect on what has grown in our lives.

Like seeds that are planted in the spring and harvested in the fall, so much of what matters begins quietly. A small act of love, a faithful prayer, a word of encouragement, or a choice to keep going may not seem significant at the time. But over the years, those moments can shape our relationships, strengthen our faith, and become part of the people we are today.

We give love to our families. We give kindness to friends. We encourage the people around us. We nurture relationships and carry hope through prayers whispered when no one else is listening.

Sometimes we give without ever knowing what difference it will make.

As we get older, it can be easy to look at the things we haven’t accomplished or the dreams that haven’t happened yet. We can become so focused on what is missing that we overlook everything God has already grown.

Maybe your harvest doesn’t look the way you once imagined it would. Perhaps it’s found in the relationship you have with your grown children. Maybe it’s a friendship that has lasted through decades of change. It could be wisdom gained through a difficult season, a faith that has become stronger because it was tested, or the simple ability to encourage another woman because you’ve walked through something similar yourself.

Some of the most beautiful things we’ve grown may never come with recognition or applause.

But that doesn’t make them any less valuable.

And here’s something else worth remembering:

We’re not finished growing.

There are still people to love, prayers to pray, friendships to nurture, dreams to explore, and new possibilities to welcome.

Being a Late Bloomer doesn’t mean we’ve reached the end of the growing season.

Maybe we are finally beginning to recognize just how much has already grown, and realizing there is still plenty of room for something new.

So this week, instead of focusing on what hasn’t happened yet, take a moment to look around. You may discover that your life is already filled with blessings and growth you simply haven’t stopped long enough to see.

PRAYER

Father,

Thank you for the love, faith, and experiences You have allowed to shape my life, and the ways You have brought growth I couldn’t always see.

Help me notice the blessings that are already around me. When I become discouraged by what hasn’t happened, remind me of how far You have brought me and the good You have grown through my life.

Lord keep my heart open to new possibilities. Show me where I can love, encourage, serve, dream, and grow in the season ahead.

Amen.

Reflection

  • What is something beautiful in your life today that began in a small way years ago?

  • Who is someone whose life may be different because of the love or encouragement you gave them?

  • What new possibility would you still like to welcome?

Late Bloomer Affirmation

I am grateful for what God has grown in my life, and I believe there are still beautiful things left to grow.
